'Shaughraun'
Well known, competent sporting artist from Ellesmere in Shropshire,
He was known for his Horse paintings and other animals.his paintings
hang on the walls of many West Country Estates. He exhibited at the
Royal Academy in1861 and was said by many Art critics to be a better
painter than Landseer. This painting of 'Shaughraun' the winner of the
Dublin jumping prize and Champion Stone Wall prize in 1880 shows
why he is so collectible.
