About this item
Early 19th century cushioned octagonal Venetian mirror with layered glass frame consisting of a bevelled glass central panel with a narrow outer frame decorated with long scallop cuts and an inner frame decorated with small scallop cuts. The frame pieces are held in place with simplified glass leaves and flowers and these are secured to the mirror with diamond-cut glass topped silver metal screws. The mirror has an open curled acanthus leaf cartouche with central, layered, fanned shape decoration and the original central glass is bevelled, has just a little light age, and gives an excellent reflection.
