    About this item

A very rare and unusual Victorian Scottish pebble agate brooch fashioned as a bow with a hanging agate drop. Made in Scotland probably in Edinburgh around 1880. Agate jewellery was popularized by Queen Victoria who frequented Balmoral Castle near Aberdeen. She often gave pieces as gifts to family and friends. This one is shaped as a bow which is made from 7 moss agates with a briolette cut Montrose agate drop. They are all set in unmarked silver and are in really good condition. A very collectable piece.
