A Very Fine Early 20th Century Demilune Side Cabinet

A very fine early 20th Century parcel-gilt satinwood side cabinet of exceptional quality and beautifully carved with rich patination, grain and hand painted with intricately detailed Neoclassical motifs throughout.  The well figured, moulded top of demilune form is adorned to the central reserve with an exquisite radiating bouquet of flowers, trailing foliate and swags of linen, all set within a fabulous line inlaid border with bead and flowerhead motif detail.  Raised over simple panelled frieze above three doors which open to reveal shelved interiors and are embellished to the central reserve with a further set of stunning hand painted cameos depicting figural heavenly scenes of maidens and putti sitting aloft the clouds, encircled with floral and linen swag decoration within a greek key border, terminating on stylised giltwood whorl foot with acanthus leaf motif detail.
