    About this item

RARE AESTHETIC POLYCHROME BROWN TRANSFERWARE PITCHER with PEWTER LID

    SEAWEED PATTERN

    Josiah Wedgwood and Sons

    Staffordshire England  1883

This large victorian 8 3/4 inches tall x 5 1/2 inches wide milk jug is transfer printed in dark brown with multicolored polychrome highlights.  The six sided jug has an ornate impressed handle as well as impressed geometric designs along the rim and base.  Most unusual.  Perfect lid with ceramic knob and impressed shell design.

The pattern features a variety of large colorful ocean seaweed drifting around the body of the jug as well as the handle.  A very desirable and collectable pattern.  One of the very best patterns.

Condition is great, never used, clean and bright.
