AESTHETIC BROWN TRANSFERWARE PLATE

Made in Burslem, a town in the Staffordshire Region of England by
James Macintyre and Co. Potteries c. 1880
This large Victorian aesthetic 10 3/8 " dinner plate is transfer printed in dark brown. The printed transfer features ripe Fruit and flowers surrounding a cartouche of a woodland Squirrel complete with a delightful expression.
The piece is marked on the underside with a trademark that identifies the maker as Macintyre, a pottery maker working in Burslem in the Staffordshire region of England.
The piece is in great condition. Clean shiny and bright and there are no chips, no cracks, no hairline and no repairs. It is absolutely gorgeous - elegant and well potted, with richly detailed transfers reflecting the Victorian love of nature and the exotic.
