    About this item

A large Caughley porcelain moulded sauceboat with wide melon fluted walls. Printed with the "Full Nankin" pattern, c.1785-1790. Unmarked.

    It measures 21.5cm (8 1/2") long, 10.2cm (4") wide and 9.8cm (3 1/2") high the handle (6.3cm (2 1/2") to the rim) and sensibly holds 300ml (10 fl.oz) if required for practical use.

In very good condition. There is a firing line across the bottom of the handle and a firing fault at the rim to the side of the spout: an unglazed nibble above an underglaze chip, slightly discoloured. A small chip to the side of the foot. No repair or restoration.
