    About this item

    A rare set of ceramic weights comprising of 7lb, 4lb, 2lb, 1lb and 4 oz weights. Verification mark 422 for Forfar Burgh (Royal burghs were abolished in 1975 by the Local Government (Scotland) Act 1973). 

    7lb weight dia: 12.8 cm.   

    Condition: Very good.  The 1lb weight has an old chip to the underside of the base.

    Note: These weights were only used for a short period of time and made illegal for trade use in 1907 as they chipped and therefore were inaccurate.
