    About this item

A sweet early Staffordshire pearlware figure of a putto or young boy stood on a grassy mound on a square socle base. Wearing a floral chaplet and patterned stole, he stands against a small bocage with a large basket with trailing flowering plants and holding a flower. Impressed number to the base. c.1810-1820.

    It measures 11.2cm (4 3/8") high and 7cm (2 3/4") by 4.5cm (1 3/4") wide.

In very good condition with just a couple of minor points: a reglued chip to the front of the base and small chip to the back corner. A few chips to the leaves on the bocage and the petals on the flower he is holding and the chaplet and the handle is missing from the basket. Some minor losses to the green enamel.
