    About this item

Fine Mahogany Serving or Console Table
Mahogany serving table in the manner of Thomas Chippendale, with a Cuban mahogany top of excellent colour, with gadrooned edge, over a banded frieze.  The square chamfered legs with blind fretwork, stands on moulded block feet.
Possibly Irish, stylistically 18th century, however constructed circa 1840.

A table of good scale and proportions, the timber with good depth of colour. The blind fretwork to the legs is typical of Chippendale design.  This table was made of the best 18th century timber, hence the wonderful colour and skin, however it was made in the early 19th century to the earlier design. Presented in excellent condition.
