A Very Fine Pair Of 20th Century Hand Painted Demilune Side Tables

A very fine pair of 20th Century mahogany demilune side tables of exceptional quality and beautifully carved with rich patination, grain and hand painted with intricately detailed Neoclassical motifs throughout.  The well figured, moulded top of demilune form is adorned to the central reserve with an exquisite stylised, radiating foliate fan, swags of pearls, ribbon bows and oval medallions depicting flowerheads and frolicking winged putti holding bow, arrow and a bouquet of flowers, all set within a fabulous border band of scrolling foliate.  Raised over simple panelled frieze with further gorgeous painted motifs, supported on elegantly tapering, ring turned leg with fluted detail conjoined with shaped concave stretcher centred with decorative medallion of painted flowers, terminating on stylised tulip foot.
