    About this item

A traditional German enamelware bread box dating to about the 1920s. The surface of the metal is covered with stippled enamel with the words "Frisches Brot" (Fresh Bread) to the lid. It has the original brass hinge and clasp, and a hinged steel handle to the top. As is common with this type of ware there is some chipping to the enamel in places, but no holes in the body of the box, so it will still keep your bread fresh. This is an attractive and homely piece that could still be used today.

The condition is commensurate with its age.
