    A very rare early 19th Century Regency rosewood teapoy of exceptional quality, finely hand carved with gorgeously rich patination and fine grain.  The well figured, moulded and quarter veneered hinged top of sarcophagus form with decorative gadroon detail throughout, opens upwards to reveal fitted storage section housing two removable tea caddies and a reservoir for mixing tea.  Raised over reverse tapering column support with fabulous foliate, gadroon and fluted carved motif detail above concave quatrefoil base with elegant, fluted bun foot, terminating on brass casters.
