A very fine 19th Century rosewood stool in the manner of 'Strahan of Dublin. This fabulous piece is of exceptional quality, large proportions and finely hand carved with beautifully rich patination and fine grain. The cushioned seat of rectangular form is upholstered in a striking deep red velvet fabric, flanked with two moulded side end supports with scroll and trailing bellhusk motif detail. Raised over moulded and panelled serpentine rail and elegantly tapering cabriole leg with further stunningly carved arrangements of c-scrolls, intricately detailed flowerheads, trailing bellhusks, sphere and scrolling foliate motif detail throughout, terminating on gorgeous brass and ceramic casters with beaded detail.
