C1900 Hartshorn Hand Painted Hardware Shop Window Blind

A rare survivor. This handpainted canvas shop window blind hung for over seventy years in a Hardware shop until the early 1970s when the shops owners two unmarried eldery brothers passed away. Originally manufactured by Hartshorns (Newark N.J U.S.A) whose founder Andrew Hartshorn patented the first self activating roller blind. It found its way to a shop in rural County Cork, Ireland. The typography in our opinion is superb and very much of its time.  In original condition its timeworn look gives it a hugely decorative appeal.

Condition commensurate with age. Repairs, some holes and staining.
