    About this item

    Edwin Harold  Glasbey (1894-1952) lived in Chapeltown near Sheffield and painted in oil, watercolour and gouache. He was a member of the Sheffield Society of Artists and exhibited at galleries including the R.A., Liverpool and Glasgow.

    "Making Hay in the Valley" is a good quality example of his oil paintings and shows a view close to his home. Measuring 20"x 24" it is signed lower left and is framed giving an overall size of 27"x 32". On the back is an old label giving the title of the painting.
