    About this item

A very attractive and competent painting of a picturesque harbour town, dating to approximately the 1930s. It features a stone quay, beached fishing boats and, on the end of the quay, washerwomen laundering clothes in the water. The warm colours chosen by the artist give an atmosphere of heat on a still summer afternoon. It is probably French. It is painted on canvas and is unframed.

It is in good condition with wear commensurate with its age.
