William Lyon's-Wilson. British. 1892-1981
His work was exhibited at the Refern Gallery and the Royal Academy. Described by his contemporary Richard Eurich, RA, as the best watercolourist of his time
The freedom of line and surety of mark making produces a lively and captivating scene. Half a dozen fishing boats bob happily in the harbour while the houses on the hillside are ably suggested by the deftest of brush strokes. The townsfolk, each suggested by a mere dab of colour, bustle about their evening business.
