    A view of the East Anglia coast of England, the sandbanks leading on to a fisherman's weatherboarded hut on stilts awaits the incoming tide, flat green pastures in the distance below building stratocumulus clouds.

    An East Anglian artist and he studied at Colchester School of Art, 1954–8, then Royal College of Art, 1958–61. Taught at Scarborough School of Art, 1961–6, then gave up to concentrate on painting.  Mixed shows included New Art Centre, Piccadilly Gallery and RA Summer Exhibition, but in addition there was a string of solo shows from 1963, at Austen Hayes Gallery, York. Later ones included Grape Lane Gallery, York, 1990, and Mistral Galleries, 1993.
