Image of a traditional late 19th Century artist's cachet portfolio but rendered in bright pink. Trompe l'oeil handwritten label, ribbon tie etc. Text reads "Archives Hachette 1870-1910. Images 1900" / "Centre Georges Pompidou" / "Bibliothèque Publique d'Information, 9 septembre-19 octobre 1981". Signed and dated within the image lower right edge "Hommage à Henri: Grapus 81".
A highly decorative original 1981 poster, designed by the innovative and influential Marxist graphic design collective "Grapus" to advertise an exhibition of fin de siècle work taken from the archives of celebrated French publishing house "Hachette".
