A Superb English Victorian Faux Bamboo Library Ladder, made from carved Beech wood, comprising of 9 rungs, hand crafted in the style of faux bamboo. C1890
During 19th century, the English were obsessed with all things Asian, Chinoiserie was in vogue and making furniture that had an Asian influence was very much in style. This library ladder was carved from fruitwood but carved to look like bamboo, a very stylish piece of Victorian craftsmanship.
