This is an antique ship's log desk ornament. An English, brass and oak maritime display instrument, dating to the early 20th century, circa 1920.

Charming nautical interest, presented for display

Displaying a desirable aged patina and in good order

Polished brass casing presents superb golden tonality

Quality oak plinth shows fine grain interest and light caramel hues

Cherub Mk.II log dial mounted upon a fixed bracket

Ceramic dial set behind an opening glass porthole door - some age related loss present

Annotated with a main log of 0-100 miles, with an auxiliary dial for 1-10 miles

Replete with the distinctive trailing fin and hook

Extensively engraved to rear of log with the Thos. Walker maker's mark

Thomas Walker of Birmingham further noted upon the dial

T.W. Anchor trade mark engraved to each trailing fin
