A beautiful antique mahogany desk chair, of exceptional quality, decorated with ornate ormolu mounts.

This handsome and unique chair is a good size, very sturdy and comfortable to sit in.

It has a lattice back with a lovely Jugendstil * mask and boldly shaped arms with ormolu stars mounted at the front.

There are numerous leaf and floral ormolu mounts throughout making this a very impressive chair to look at.

It stands on square tapering legs terminating in stepped caps and curved back legs.

The chair has recently benefitted from traditional restoration including French polishing, wax polishing and cleaning and restoring of the ormolu mounts.

The sprung seat has recently been upholstered in black hide with a studded brass border.

*Jugendstil (Youth Style) was an artistic movement, particularly in the decorative arts, that was influential in central Europe from about 1895 until about 1910.
