This lovely, 18th century French margin mirror has, unusually, three frames - each one carved with a slightly different raised acanthus leaf design. At each corner the middle and outer frames are linked with a beautiful, curling acanthus leaf and flower decoration. The original, mercury glass has a little age around the outside of the central piece and more age and some age and silvering losses along the bottom edge. However, the mirror gives an excellent reflection and would make a stunning, and very special, overmantel.
