A very fine Edwardian marquetry inlaid fruitwood and satinwood writing desk or bookcase.  The stunningly detailed piece has finely applied line inlay and Neoclassical motif marquetry throughout, comprising of urns, foliate swags, flowerheads and trailing bell husks.  The moulded top of serpentine form surmounted with moulded shelf above an arrangement of three short and two long drawers with brass pulls.  The frieze with single drawer with brass escutcheon and opens to reveal gilt embossed brown tooled leather writing skiver surface flanked with fitted sections, supported on elegant slender tapering square legs conjoined with concave undertier.
