A pretty, reclaimed, Victorian combination fire. The fire is well made with a lovely design and is of the ideal size for a bedroom or smaller reception room. The fire has an ornate smoke hood, in the "Brighton Pavilion" style, and the legs have an attractive column design. There is dentil moulding under the mantel and leaf designs at the top of the legs. The fire retains its original front bars and grill and there is a rosette design above the fire brick. The fire has been painted white but there are marks and chips and the back edge of the mantel is unpainted. Purchaser may wish to have the fire stripped and re-finished to suit. The fire has a registered design number on the back, RD 289386, dating the fire to1896. The fire is in solid reclaimed condition with some signs of wear and some damage, as expected of antique items. The fire has some damage to the top right hand side where a fixing lug has broken off. The fire has some surface rust, especially to the back and back edge of the mantel. There are some marks chips to the fire brick. The centre bolt under the mantel has seized and the mantel is therefore slightly loose. Please see pictures for condition details. The fire is a very pretty example of Victorian design and it would add great period character to a fireplace.
