A fantastic 19th Century giltwood mirror of large proportions.  The mirror glass plate of rectangular form set within a stunningly hand carved, moulded giltwood frame flanked with borders of beading and foliate.  The frieze with stylised centred cabochon flanked with flowerheads, scrolling foliate, applied flowerhead paterae, egg and dart detail.  Surmounted with an intricately pierced cartouche compostion of an arrangement of a pair of birds flanked with trailing flowers and foliate, all ornately carved in high relief.  The shaped, platform base with a further arrangement of pierced scrolling foliate motif detail to the sides.
