A superb 19th Century giltwood dressing or leaner mirror of both tall and large proportions.  The mirror glass plate of rectangular form with canted top corners, is set within an impressive moulded and fluted giltwood frame with beaded and foliate row shaped borders.  Surmounted with an elaborate, pierced cartouche composition comprising of a centred scallop shell flanked with stylised c-scrolls and trailing foliate, with a further arrangement of rich scrolling acanthus leaves to each canted corner, all finely hand carved in high relief.
