This is an English pocket watch made for use during the First World War.
The watch has a broken balance and also the winding and setting clutch appears to be missing as the winder is not engaging with the watch. The watch is sold with no “as is” with no warranty
Movement – the gilt ¾ plate movement has a lever escapement and is signed “7 Jewels, 409219 and is in 65% mint condition – multiple scratches
Case – the movement comes in a white metal open face case by Dennison, which has a screw off back and bezel. The case is is engraved with a large government issue arrow on the back and 20385F. These markings are repeated in the side also. The case has a smooth plain finish and is in 90% mint condition – excellent condition but a small patch of deep scratches where some (idiot) has tried to use a knife to open the case rather than unscrew the back cover
Dial – the white enamel dial has a full set of blue steel hands and is signed “F. Williamson, Ltd, London, 265471”. The dial is in 70% mint condition – damage on the 10 spreading to the centre of the dial
The watch has a thick bevelled glass
The watch measures 57mm wide x 19mm deep
The watch is stem wound / stem set but neither are working at present.
