Studio portrait oil painting on board signed T.Alfred West. The reverse inscribed 'Alan Smith Esq. aged 39 years'.
T.Alfred West fl. 1890 - 1935. This painting bears exhibition labels giving the artist’s address as 25 Turret Road, Wallasey, where he worked from c1921 - 1926.  It is recorded that he exhibited at the Royal Academy, The Royal Society of Oil Painters, The Royal Cambrian Academy and the Liverpool Gallery (now The Walker).
