A set of cast iron kitchen scales with brass scale pans and brass weights. The scales are French and they are marked, in the casting, ‘FORGE 10 KILOG’. This would be the maximum weight that they could take. They have original, white paintwork, which is now quite worn in places, adding to the character. There is a small, brass detail to the top of the scales. The flat weights are English and there is a full set from 2lb down to 1/2oz. Both the scales and the weights date from c.1880 and are in good condition.
