This is an English silver pocket watch which has clear hallmarks for Birmingham 1900

This watch has an English silver case and an English pocket watch movement.

This is a key wound watch and to set the hands you need to open the bezel and place the key over the central post. To see the movement you need to lever the movement out of the case. This is all quite tricky but good fun none the less and the watch will come with full instructions but is not suited for someone who has never handled any type of pocket watch before.

Movement – the gilt full plate going barrel movement has a lever escapement with a compensated balance. The movement is signed “Kays, Worcester, Guaranteed English Manufacture”. The movement is in 95% mint condition – superb condition

The movement has its original gilt dust cap.

Case – the movement comes in an English silver open face case, which has a hinged back and bezel. The watch is wound from the back and set from the front and the movement is accessed from the front also. The back cover pops open crisply to 90 degrees when you press the winder in. The case has coin edged sides, engine turning and has a vacant crest on the front. The is in 85% mint condition – some wear with little bruises and rubbing but still in good presentable condition

Dial – the white enamel dial has a pair of gilt hands and a blue steel sub seconds hands. It is signed “Kay’s Famous Lever” and is in 85% mint condition – some tiny marks on the very edge and a little cluster of hairlines on the 8-9

The watch has a bevelled mineral glass

The watch is key wound / key set and comes with a key

The watch measures 53mm wide x 19mm deep.
