An early 20th century milliner's hat block and stretcher. The wood has developed a wonderful patina from years of use, the two halves open and close as they should, although it is a little stiff. The celluloid size guide to the base is still present and intact but is slightly warped. As well as making a great decorative addition to a vintage interior setting the hat block is still fully functional for it's original use. There are the usual scuffs, marks and scrapes as expected from and item of this age, use and material - which all add to it's character and it displays really well.
