This is a delightful Renaissance silver fob seal, dating to the early to late 16th - early 17th century AD. The device is superbly engraved of a double-handled vase or urn, with flowers. The urn is decorated with a monogram consisting of the initials FVT. The handle is pierced and is of a chessman type. The vase and flowers may suggest the owner to be an apothecary or herbalist. It is a wonderful item in good excavated condition.
