About this item
A large, Peugeot, cast iron coffee mill on a wooden stand. This is marked, in the casting, “PEUGEOT FRERES BREVETES. S.G.D.G” and it is also marked “C2” which is the model number and size. It is one of the more unusual designs of mill and it dates fro c.1880. It is mounted onto a nicely shaped wooden stand and this allows the handle to turn freely because the handle extends beyond the base of the mill. The mill has its’ original green paintwork, a domed brass cover and good, white enamelling to the interior. There is a small chip to the wood on the top of the draw but otherwise it is in very good condition and it is in full working order. It is also a very impressive piece.
