M1817 A SET OF 14 RECLAIMED ANTIQUE FIRE TILES GREY AND PATTERN

A set of very nice, reclaimed, antique fire tiles likely to date to the early 20th Century. The set comprises of 14 tiles, 6 large square tiles and 8 half tiles that sit in-between each large tile and at each end. The larger tiles are plain and are a pale grey colour. The half tiles are green, brown and grey/green with a textured swirling leaf design. The tiles are designed to sit on either side of a cast iron tiled fire, 7 on each side, but could be used for other interior design projects. The tiles are in useable condition with some light damage and signs of age, as expected of reclaimed antiques. The tiles do have some slight stains and smoke residue at the edges that may improve with further cleaning. The tiles have some small knocks and chips, mainly to the edges and corners. One of the half tiles has a larger chip out of it. The tile glaze has crazing that is more evident on the grey tiles. The back of the tiles have smoke stains.  Please see pictures for condition details. The tiles have a nice period design and would be perfect for adding character to a cast iron tiled fire or to add character and charm to a home.
