About this item
A three part pewter ice cream mould. This type of mould was often referred to as a banquet mould and this is a lovely example dating from c.1870. The top is moulded with a selection of fruits and the hinging sides form a basket. It is in good, usable condition but there would have been a lug on the one side, corresponding with the one that can be seen in the images, and this is now missing. It doesn’t affect the mould in terms of use as the circular base and lid hold the mould together. There is slight denting to the base.
