About this item
A two part, hinged pewter ice cream mould in the shape of a gourd. This is marked, in the casting, “L G” to one side and ‘1782’ over ‘4’ to the other. L G is the mark of the French company Letang and ‘1782’ is the pattern number. It dates from c.1880. The design is very well detailed and would turn out well. The mould is in very good condition. The exterior has a dark patina and the interior is still quite bright and in good usable condition. It still has its’ original brass pins to hold it together.
Dimensions: Height 15cm. Width across the hinges 15cm. Diameter of gourd 13.5cm.
