About this item
A 19th century, pewter, ice cream banquet mould with a pile of berries to the top. This is marked, in the base, with a registered design Kite Mark which dates the registration of the design of this mould to the 22nd of July 1868. It is also stamped with “NO 29” which would be the pattern number and “1 QUART” which refers to the capacity. This type of mould was made in three sections, which allowed for a much easier release of the ice cream, and it turns out a fluted pillar with the pile of berries on the top. The mould is in excellent condition. The interior is still in very good, bright, usable condition and the exterior has a dark patina.
