About this item
A small, pewter ice cream mould in the shape of an egg. This mould is marked ‘L.G’ in the casting. This is the mark of the French company Letang and it dates from c.1880. Moulds like this were either used for moulding individual portions or they would be used in conjunction with others to make a table centrepiece. You may turn out a cluster of eggs in a nest, or around a chicken. This mould is in very good, usable condition and the pewter has a dark patina.
