Songjiang cushions with tassels

These cushions are made from a vintage Songjiang cotton textile. Songjiang textiles come from the Sonjiang district of Shanghai which historically had a proliferation of weaving businesses. This textile was made on a narrow hand loom with 4 paddles which is a highly complex weaving process and very rare to find now. There are only a few narrow looms left in Songjiang and the weavers themselves tend to be old. The pattern of the cloth is made up of dark blue, lavender, lilac, green and ochre yarns in a squiggle pattern. The colours are all natural and its a beautiful and rare textile. I've added dark blue tassels at the corners and there are zip fasteners and feather and down pads.
