About this item
A handsome reclaimed oak plank internal / external door. The door is very heavy and sturdy and has a very nice Gothic, traditional, appearance. The door comprises of three thick oak planks, two with fluted detailing. The door has fantastic Gothic pyramid iron studs across it, adding great character. The back face of the door has three thick ledges. The oak is of a particularly nice quality and has been sanded to bare wood, ready for sealing by purchaser. The door can be used internally or externally but the door must have a weatherproof finish if it is to be used externally. The door is reclaimed and therefore has some signs of use and wear, as expected. There are some holes left from hardware removal and some shadows where door straps and locks were previously attached. There are some surface cracks that do not affect the strength of the door and one base corner has a knock. One plank has a circular gouge where a latch was placed and there are some surface splits to the ledges on the back face. The door width and height may need slight levelling. Please see pictures for condition details. The door is a fantastic example of a traditional oak plank door and its Gothic stud detailing and attractive wood grain makes it a desirable item for a rustic or country home.
Please note: We have a very similar, taller, door available for sale separately and seen in the last photograph. Please see our reference DB0718 for details.
