About this item
A handsome, reclaimed, oak antique plank door and frame. The door is heavy and well made and comprises of a planked front, with detailing on the edges of the planks, and a ledge and brace construction on the internal face. The door has a large oak frame with a press doorbell plate (doorbell will not work) and chamfered detailing. The door has a space for a letterplate and there is a drip bar at its base. The door has had a varnished or stained finish but there are scratches, marks and discolouration and purchaser may wish to sand and refinish the door to suit.
The door is a reclaimed item and does have some signs of wear and some light damage, as expected. There are some knocks, chips and small holes to the door and frame. The frame has some wear and erosion, especially to the corners and the sill. The drip bar is worn. The frame has some splits and cracks but it is solid and stable. There is some evidence of treated woodworm. The door has some holes and marks from hardware removal. The oak has some scratches, marks and colour variation. There is a wood knot hole in the side of the frame. Please see pictures for condition details. The door is a handsome item and well made, ideal for adding character to a home.
