This is an ancient Roman gold aureus of emperor Vespasian, minted at Rome in late 73 AD
Obverse: IMP CAES VESP AVG CEN, "Supreme commander (Imperator) Caesar Vespasian, emperor (Augustus), censor." laureate head right.
Reverse: PAX AVG, "Peace of the emperor (Augustus)" Pax standing left, leaning on column, holding branch, caduceus; before her is a money sack (bag of coins) on a tripod.
