    This is an ancient Roman silver Antoninianus of Emperor Gordian III, minted at Rome in 241 AD 

    Obverse:  IMP GORDIANVS PIVS FEL AVG "Emperor Gordianus, Pious and Happy August" radiate draped bust left

    Reverse: LIBERALITAS AVG IIII "Fourth liberality of the emperor (Augustus)" Liberalitas, draped, standing front, head left, holding abacus in right hand and double cornucopiae in left hand.

    DENOMINATION: Antoninianus = 2 Denarii

    MATERIAL: Silver 

    DATE: 238 - 244 AD (minted at Rome in 241 AD)

    SIZE: 20.2mm diameter
