    This is an ancient Roman silver denarius, of Emperor Maximinus I, ("the Thracian") minted in Rome between 235 - 236 AD. 

    Obverse:  IMP MAXIMINVS PIVS AVG, "The emperor Maximinus, pious [and] blessed august" laureate, draped bust right.

    Reverse:  FIDES  MILITVM, "Faith of the soldiers" Fides standing left, a standard in each hand. This refers to "The loyalty of the soldiers".

    This is a superb coin, well struck and with a strong and bold portrait of this soldier emperor, easily EF.
