    This is an ancient Roman silver denarius, of emperor Geta, minted at Laodicea ad Mare in 203 AD. 

    Obverse: P SEPTIMIVS GETA CAES, "Publius Septimius Geta Caesar" laureate, draped, cuirassed bust right

    Reverse:  MARTI VICTORI, "To Mars, the victorious" Mars, helmeted, cloaked, advancing right, holding spear in right hand and trophy in left hand.
