CS0123 A PAIR OF TALL RECLAIMED STRIPPED PINE GEORGIAN SHUTTERS

A pair of reclaimed, original, tall stripped pine Georgian shutters, C.1780. The shutters comprise of 4 leaves, 2 on each side, that are hinged so one folds back behind the other when opened. The shutters have two recessed panels per leaf. The shutters have four large, decorative, metal hinges that have great character. Please note one shutter has a rebated inner edge but the other will need a rebate adding. We can provide this service, please contact us for details. One shutter has some metal hardware, but this can be removed by purchaser if required. The pine has been stripped but the shutters are damp and are not suitable for painting. There is staining to the pine and you may wish to re-sand the shutters. The shutters have some signs of wear and some damage, commensurate with their considerable age. There are knocks, chips, scratches and splits in the pine but the shutters are stable and solid. Some cracks can be seen. The tops of the shutters have some knocks and damage. The left hand shutter has a baton added to the top. There are holes and marks where hardware has been removed. The hinges and metal hardware have surface rust. Please see pictures for condition details. The shutters are a lovely example of Georgian design and would add fantastic period character to a window or the shutters could be used for an interior project.
