About this item
A small, 19th century, copper pipe mould. This is probably French and dates from c.1870. It is made from a heavy gauge of copper, and it is stamped with a number ’263’ which would be a pattern number. The design consists of twelve angular columns but if you look at the top of the mould it resembles a radiating sun. There is slight pitting to the copper. This is possibly the result of it being used for ice cream and the salt, which was used in the freezing process, has reacted with the copper. Other than this it is in good condition. The tinning, to the interior, is worn.
Dimensions: Height 5.4cm. Diameter 7.2cm.
