About this item
A 19th century, French copper, oval saucepan and cover. This is quite a small example of a pan of this type. They were often used for boiling small joints of meat and this size is very useful in that it can be used on top of the stove but it will also fit into the oven. It is made from a very heavy gauge of copper and it has castellated seams around the base and up the side. It has a steel handle to the side of the pan and a copper strap handle to the lid. It dates from c.1850 and it is own very good condition. The interior has been re-tinned so that it can be used. The pan itself is 25cm. long by 16.3cm. wide by 10.5cm. deep and the overall length, including the handle, is 40.3cm.
Price includes postage within the U.K. Shipping to the U.S.A. add £35. Western Europe add £10.
